Ahoy there Sailor!

Ahoy there Sailor!

Another Summer has left us and I am already lighting the fire and wearing my Autumn wardrobe.
I came across a wonderful 1950's sailor dress recently and it seems a fitting way to wave goodbye to those light Summer evenings and say hello to a new season. Ahoy there Autumn.

I am in love with this photo of Marilyn Monroe taken by Milton Greene in 1953.

This is a sweet 1950's Sailor inspired dress. UK size 6-8 (waist 26''). In excellent condition. Zips have been replaced. £45 *Belt not included.

This dress would work just as well this season teamed with a chunky cardigan, tights and brogues.

I love the embroidered Anchor detail on the front of the dress.

The nautical inspiration still continues as strongly as ever as seen in Collectif's 2015/16 range. The clothes have strong lines and clean cut shapes, which makes them so wearable today without stepping into that realm of 'fancy dress' costume. Be quick as they have a sale on and you can grab a nautical bargain. https://www.collectif.co.uk/

I love this iconic image capturing a US Navy veteran kissing a nurse in New York during V day in 1945.
